The most distant thing you can see with the naked eye – and yet our neighbour.

A large tilted spiral galaxy with a bright core and two small companion galaxies.

Andromeda Galaxy (M 31), from Banská Bystrica

from €25

Our neighbour, this time photographed from the home observatory.

A face-on spiral galaxy with branching arms and blue and pink regions on a star field.

Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101)

A spiral galaxy seen face-on, 21 million light years away.

A face-on spiral galaxy with bluish arms and a bright core.

Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101), close-up

A small spiral galaxy in the middle of a dark star field, portrait view.

Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101), portrait

from €25

The Pinwheel in the wide field of a short refractor.

Three galaxies on a dark star field: two tilted spirals on the left and one seen edge-on on the right.

Leo Triplet (M 65, M 66, NGC 3628)

from €25

Three galaxies shaping each other through gravity.

Three galaxies at the corners of the frame – two tilted spirals and one seen edge-on with a dark dust lane.

Leo Triplet (M 65, M 66, NGC 3628), close-up

from €25

The trio closer in, with a faint stream of stars near the edge-on galaxy.

Three galaxies in a vertical frame – the edge-on galaxy at the top, two tilted spirals below.
