About the object
Solar equipment passes only a narrow band of hydrogen light (H-alpha, 656 nm). This reveals the chromosphere – the layer above the visible surface: dark filaments are clouds of gas above the surface, bright patches are active regions, and prominences stand out at the limb. Never look at the Sun without a certified filter.
