Uranus

An ice giant at the edge of the Solar System as a tiny blue disc.

About the object

Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun, nearly 3 billion kilometres away. Methane in its atmosphere absorbs red light and gives it its blue-green colour. Its axis is tilted by almost 98°, so it orbits the Sun as if lying on its side.
